It was our clearest look yet at the upcoming new land rover defender

There’s a new land rover defender at work. In fact, there’s already a new land rover defender in the works for a while now – we suspect long before the former defender stopped production in 2016. It’s amazing how little we know about the upcoming suv. Come on stage.

At various stages of its development process, land rover has hinted at what we can expect, but only given us the broadest possible itinerary. First, we know what it won’t look like: it won’t be a throwback style reinterpretation of the old guard, and it won’t be like the previous land rover concepts like the dc100.

The photos above seem to confirm this. They showed a disguised defender on the road (endure another round of kamo shooting; At least it’s not like a plutonium-japanese sports car), probably near the jaguar land rover solihull factory. This is the first time that we clearly see the coming vehicles, although they leave out many details – it looks like some kind of block covers hood lines, at the top of the windshield area and the line at the back of the car — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — this is should be. And, in a nod to its predecessor, the iconic side-door door appears to have been preserved.

Land rover has said before that the new defender is aimed at the upper end of the market. In concept and price, it seems to be closer to the new mercedes-benz g-class than the jeep shield, or, actually, the former defender. Keep in mind that while defenders have an old-fashioned commemorative logo in the United States, they are the foundation of a range of general-purpose vehicles in overseas markets. We’ve heard that the new defensive line will include a range of models, but it’s hard to imagine one of them having a work truck.

You don’t even have to look very closely to see the separate rear suspension — sorry, the door shaft fan. The side door, though, extends all the way to the new defender.

Previously, we had heard that the new defenders would ride on the aluminum d7u structure, which was also used by land rover and land rover discovery. In moving toward unity, the defender actually goes further than the physical g.

However, like the g-class, it will be fully moved to a separate suspension setting. This is evident in the photo below. So if you really want to put an inlet shaft under a defense device, you’ll want to import an old one. Just make sure it’s at least 25 years old. This should not come as a surprise: two decades ago, land rover announced its intention to phase out its sturdy axles. The defenders were the last holdouts, and a large portion of us were saddened by its abandonment of modernity. We do believe that it is still a cross-country contender – and if low-traction feats, even the roving car movement, are capable, then its ability should not be a concern for the average buyer.

Distinct new defender will, however, as another example, heritage cross-country paradox: from jeeps cowboy to mercedes-benz grade G defender (line) and the rest of the land wheel traveling block, these are the utilitarian trucks, struck a chord with the upper buyers, part of the reason is the truth of their ability and awareness. Over time, these buyers dramatically changed the perception of the car, the market position, and, finally, the development of the car, which is why we ended up producing a whole new crop of high-end suvs, almost entirely out of their agricultural roots.

Purists will groan under their hard-boiled series iis, where they are performing another transfer reconstruction, but the reality is that they won’t buy these things anyway. We are keen to see what the new defender will look like and, more importantly, what it will do once kamo closes. We expect it to come relatively soon – either later this year or in early 2019.

Graham Kozak

Graham Kozak drove a 1951 packard 200 in high school because what he wanted was easy to find in the parking lot. He thinks everything they’ve done recently with fuel injection and seat belts is pretty neat, too.

“I think it’s my fault, my fault,” he said.

I’ll see that next time
